On Saturday August 22nd, 2026, shortly after 11:00pm, Hamilton Emergency Services were called to the area of Upper Centennial Parkway and Green Mountain Road, for a report of a single motor vehicle striking a cyclist in the northbound lanes. The male cyclist who was also travelling north was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The Hamilton Police Service Collision Reconstruction Unit have been called in and has taken carriage of the investigation. The stretch of Upper Centennial Parkway will be closed for several hours for the investigation. The affected area is Upper Centennial Parkway, between Ridge Road and Green Mountain Road.
Alcohol or speed are not believed to be a factor in this investigation.
At this time, the police are actively seeking any potential witnesses to this incident and urge anyone with information to come forward. Investigators are also requesting any motorists in the area at the time of the collision to check their dash cameras.
