Hamilton Police have arrested two people and seized drugs, firearms and prohibited weapons following an investigation into drug trafficking in east Hamilton.
The investigation began earlier this year after police received information regarding suspected drug trafficking from a residence on Kenilworth Avenue North.
On August 27, 2026, police executed a search warrant at the residence and arrested two people without incident.
During the search, police seized approximately 10 grams each of fentanyl and methamphetamine, hydromorphone pills and psilocybin mushrooms.
Police also recovered two Uzi-style firearms, including one that was 3D printed, a 3D-printed silencer and magazine containing .22 calibre ammunition, as well as brass knuckles containing a spring-loaded knife. Two digital scales, cellular devices and Canadian currency were also seized.
Brandon MITCHELL, 41, and Joelene KEOGH, 43, both of Hamilton, have been charged with:
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Psilocybin
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Hydromorphone
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Fentanyl
- Possession of Proceeds of Crime Under $5,000
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm x2
- Possession of a Loaded Firearm
- Possession of a Prohibited Weapon/Device x3
MITCHELL faces an additional two counts of Failing to Comply with Probation and two counts of Possession Contrary to an Order.
Both accused were held in custody pending a bail hearing.
