Hamilton Police have charged an 18-year-old Hamilton man with Attempted Murder following a targeted shooting that left two people injured.
Darien Wilson, 18, was arrested shortly after the shooting and has been charged with:
Attempted Murder
Discharge Firearm with Intent to Injure
Reckless Discharge of a Firearm
Possession of a Restricted Firearm – Loaded
Possession of a Restricted Firearm Knowing its Possession was Unauthorized
Two counts of Aggravated Assault
A firearm was also recovered.
On Friday, September 18, 2026, at approximately 2:12 p.m., Hamilton Police responded to the area of King Street East and Lawrence Road following reports of a shooting.
Patrol officers located two victims suffering from gunshot wounds and provided assistance. Both were transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The Shooting Response Team (SRT) assumed carriage of the investigation and believes the shooting was targeted. The Homicide Unit is now assisting with the investigation following the laying of the Attempted Murder charge.
Police continue to investigate and are asking anyone with information, or who may have dash camera, residential security or cellphone video from the area at the time of the shooting, to contact investigators.
