Arrest Made in City’s Ninth Traffic Fatality of 2022

Hamilton Police have arrested a 34-year-old man from Hamilton, who was involved in the city’s ninth fatal collision which occurred in early April. 

On Friday, April 8, 2022, shortly after 2:00 a.m., a 42-year-old man, Glen Harison Clark was struck and killed by a pick-up truck on Upper Wentworth Street just north of the Lincoln M. Alexander Parkway.

Through continued investigation the male operating the pick-up truck was identified as Omar Bataineh. A warrant for his arrest was issued on Friday, April 22, 2022.

Investigators yielded further information that confirmed the accused had left the country. 

On Tuesday, July 26, 2022 Omar Bataineh was arrested at Toronto Pearson International Airport. He has been charged with Failure to Stop After Accident Resulting in Death.

Bataineh will appear in court on Monday, August 29, 2022.
