Arrest Made in Robbery with Firearm Investigation

On Monday, October 19, 2020, shortly before 9:30 p.m., a robbery with a firearm occurred at the Hasty Market located at 387 Barton Street East. The suspect brandished a handgun while demanding money from the clerk. The suspect fled the scene on foot eastbound with an undisclosed amount of money.

On Friday, October 23, 2020, the Hamilton Police disseminated a media release asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the male.

Through investigation, a male was identified.

On Monday, December 14, 2020, a Canada Wide Arrest Warrant was issued for Jared MacLeod. With the assistance of the Calgary Police Service, MacLeod was located and arrested on Friday, December 18, 2020.

MacLeod was returned to Hamilton and was brought before the courts on Tuesday, December 22, 2020,
