Arrest Made in the Carel Douse Homicide

One of the accused in the Carel Douse homicide has been arrested.

Samitar Hassan was arrested by Toronto Police on June 20, 2019, on unrelated charges. Hassan will be brought to Hamilton in the coming days to face first-degree murder charges.

Shortly, after 3:00 a.m., on Saturday, May 18, 2019, Hamilton Police responded to a residence located on East Avenue North in Hamilton for a stabbing that had just occurred. When police arrived, they found 33-year-old Carel Douse suffering from a number of stab wounds. He was taken to the Hamilton General Hospital and died early that afternoon.

Police are still searching for 28-year-old Daniel Wise of Hamilton and Alieu Jeng of the Toronto area. The two accused also face first-degree murder charges.
