Cannabis Delivery Man Arrested
Last night Hamilton Police investigated a suspended driver and learned he possessed a large quantity of Cannabis that he was delivering to buyers. He was arrested and will appear in court on September 11, 2019.
On Wednesday, August 7, 2019, at approximately 10:00 p.m. police investigated a white 2009 Jeep in the area of Roxborough Avenue and Barons Avenue North for a possible suspended driver. A traffic stop was conducted and police confirmed the driver's licence was suspended. He was placed under arrest for drive while under suspension. During the interaction, police detected a strong odour of Cannabis and observed a clear plastic container on the passenger seat with Cannabis. Several paper bags containing various amounts of Cannabis with the buyers' details attached were also located in the vehicle. Further investigation revealed the presence of an undisclosed amount of Canadian currency and two cell phones. Police also observed a GPS unit that showed the vehicle travelling to an address in the area.
The male was taken into police custody and the items listed below were seized as evidence. The investigation continues on the contents of the cell phones.
The 43-year-old Hamilton man was later released and is scheduled to appear in court to answer to Cannabis-related charges and the traffic violation in mid-September.
