Caught Cooking Drugs in the Kitchen

Hamilton Police H.E.A.T team seized over $7600 worth of street drugs and $10,000 in cash while executing a search warrant.

In March 2020, police investigated concerns of drug activity in the area of a Barton Street East apartment. On April 23, 2020, shortly after 3:00 p.m., a search warrant assisted in finding drugs and cash inside.

A quantity of powdered cocaine was located in measuring cups waiting to be “cooked” and processed into crack cocaine. Digital scales and other drug paraphernalia along with a large sum of money were also found.

As a result of the investigation, four people were arrested and charged with related Drug and Criminal Code offences.

Charged: Margaret Turnbull (36-years-old) Oshawa resident

  • Fail to comply with release order x 2 

Charged: Joseph Thompson (29-years-old) Hamilton resident

  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking – Cocaine
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking – Other drugs x 2
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking – Heroin
  • Proceeds of crime over $5000

David Tyler Moore (27-years-old) No fixed address

  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking – Cocaine
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking – Other drugs x 2
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking – Heroin
  • Proceeds of crime over $5000

Jennifer Halyk (40-years-old) Hamilton resident

  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking – Cocaine
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking – Other drugs x 2
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking – Heroin
  • Proceeds of crime over $5000
  • Fail to comply with release order
  • Fail to comply with probation
