Collision into Hydro Pole Leads to Dangerous Driving Charges

A Scarborough man is facing Dangerous Driving charges after colliding with a Hydro pole on Queen Street South in Hamilton.

On May 22, 2019, shortly after 1:00 a.m., two vehicles were seen travelling southbound through the Aberdeen and Queen Street South intersection. The vehicles were travelling side-by-side as they continued southbound up the access. The driver of a 2018 black Honda Civic travelling southbound in the downbound lane lost control and collided with a hydro pole causing it to fall and block all lanes of traffic.

The driver of the vehicle was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Male (21-year-old) Scarborough male

  • Dangerous Operation
  • Fail to Comply with Probation

The driver has been released on a Promise to Appear in court. He is expected to attend the John Sopinka Courthouse on June 20, 2019.

Queen Street is expected to remain closed until mid-day.
