Commercial Vehicle Inspection Blitz in Glanbrook

Hamilton police have teamed up with the Ministry of Transportation for a commercial vehicle truck blitz in Glanbrook.

On Monday, September 17, 2018, members of the Hamilton Police Service, along with Ministry of Transportation of Ontario (MTO), deployed in Glanbrook for a commercial vehicle / heavy truck blitz. This came as a result of several complaints to police about heavy truck traffic travelling off the designated truck route in the area.

The blitz included staff from the MTO and Hamilton Police members from the Traffic Branch as well as Divisional Safety Officers from Divisions two and three.

The blitz resulted in the following:

  • 35 stops
  • 26 inspections
  • 12 vehicle taken out of service
  • 46% failure rate
  • 26 Provincial Offence Notices issued
