Cyclist in Critical but Stable Condition after Collision with a Bus

A 15-year-old male cyclist is in hospital after being struck by a bus on the Hamilton Mountain.

On Thursday, December 16, 2021, at approximately 7:30 p.m., Emergency Services responded for a motor vehicle collision involving a bus and a cyclist at the intersection of Upper Wentworth Street and Stone Church Road.

A 15-year-old male cyclist was riding westbound on Stone Church Road East approaching Upper Wentworth Street, when he was struck by a bus making a right turn onto Upper Wentworth Street. The male cyclist was transported to McMaster Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Due to the nature of the injuries, the Collision Reconstruction Unit attended the scene and has taken carriage of the investigation.

Speed and/or impairment were not factors in this collision.
