Cyclist Succumbs to Injuries in Fatal Collision

Hamilton Police are investigating a cyclist involved motor vehicle collision that took the life of a, 52-year-old man of Hamilton.

On Tuesday, July 5, 2022, shortly before 5:30a.m., Hamilton Police and Emergency Partners responded to Upper Wentworth Street for a cyclist involved collision. The incident occurred on Upper Wentworth Street on the Lincoln Alexander Parkway Overpass.

Information we have at this time, is that both the vehicle, a 2017 Dodge Caravan and cyclist were travelling northbound on Upper Wentworth Street, when the collision occurred.

The passenger of the involved vehicle called 911.

Police and Emergency Partners arrived on scene and located the cyclist laying on the road absent of vital signs. Medical aid was given, until paramedics transported the male to hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

The investigation remains ongoing and police are asking any witnesses or vehicles with dash camera video that would have been in the area at the time of the incident to contact the Collision Reconstruction Unit at 905-546-4753 or 905-546-4755.
