Drug Investigations Led to the Seizure of Illicit Drugs Cash Firearms and Weapons

Members of the Hamilton Police Service conducted proactive investigations that resulted in the seizure of illicit drugs with a street value of approximately one million dollars. Police also seized two assault rifles, a handgun, various weapons, ammunition and a large quantity of Canadian currency. Five Hamilton residents are now facing multiple criminal charges.

The Hamilton Police Service Vice and Drug and Gangs and Weapons Enforcement Units have continued to investigate drug and firearm offences within the City of Hamilton. An application was submitted to the court system requesting search warrants for two properties as well as a number of vehicles related to the investigation.

On Thursday, July 23, 2020, members of the Hamilton Police Service attended a residence on the West Mountain as well as a residence in Ancaster, to execute two search warrants.

During the investigation, police seized cocaine, cannabis, Canadian currency, two assault rifles, a handgun, several other weapons, ammunition and drug paraphernalia from the residences.

In total, Hamilton Police arrested five people including one male youth. Two adults were

held for a bail hearing while the others were released with future court dates.

All three were charged and released from police custody with scheduled future court dates.
