Early Morning Investigation Identifies Stolen Property Valued at Approximately $85,000

Hamilton Police continued the investigation into recovered stolen property valued at approximately $85,000. A 31-year–old Hamilton man has been charged after the property was identified as being stolen in the GTA.

On Friday, March 15, 2019, shortly after 5:30 a.m., Hamilton Police were made aware of suspicious activity in the area of King Street East and Sherman Avenue North involving males and a vehicle. Through investigation into the actions of the males, police obtained information to support the application for a search warrant.

A short time later, the Hamilton Police BEAR Unit executed a search warrant at the address. Police have recovered at approximately $85,000.00 in stolen tools manufactured by ‘Hilti’. It is believed the tools were stolen during a break and enter in the Greater Toronto Area.

Peter Murphy, 31-years-of-age from Hamilton has been charged with Possession over $5000.00. He appeared in court on Saturday, March 16, 2019.

The investigation remains open and Hamilton Police are appealing to the public for assistance.
