Four Adults Arrested for Possession of Heroin and Fentanyl

A proactive investigation into a known suspended driver resulted in the arrest of four adults and the seizure of Heroin and Fentanyl.

On Sunday, April 21, 2019, shortly before 11:30 a.m., police observed a known suspended driver operating a motor vehicle-a black 2010 Honda Civic-in the area of King Street East and Holton Avenue North, Hamilton. A traffic stop was conducted and through investigation, police confirmed the licence of the driver- a 26-year-old female of no fixed address- was currently suspended. The driver was arrested for driving while under suspension and was removed from the vehicle. As the officer returned to the vehicle he noted the two rear passengers were attempting to conceal unknown items. Those items were later identified as a digital scale and a clear baggie, both containing a white powder residue. The registered owner who was sitting in the front and the two rear passengers were placed under arrest for possession of a controlled substance. The immediate area of the vehicle was searched and police located several items containing substances believed to be Heroin and Fentanyl.

Police determined the driver was currently bound by a probation order and was currently violating one of the conditions. She was advised of the drug charges.

Police have seized the following as evidence:

  • Undisclosed amount of Heroin
  • Undisclosed amount of Fentanyl
  • Drug paraphernalia

The driver was taken into custody and appeared in court on Monday, April 22, 2019, to answer to the charges. She was also issued a Provincial Offence Summons for driving while under suspension and is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday, May 21, 2019.

One of the rear passengers, a 36-year-old female was taken into police custody and later released on a Promise to Appear, She is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday, June 5, 2019, to answer to the charges.

The registered owner, male 60-years-of–age and the other rear passenger, a 37-year-old male of no fixed address were released on a court-ordered Appearance Notice. They are scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday, June 5, 2019

Male, 60-years-of-age from Port Dover

  • Possession of controlled substance – Heroin
  • Possession of controlled substance – Fentanyl
