Four Year-Old Boy Seriously Injured in Motor Vehicle Collision

On Monday July 4, 2022, at approximately 5:30p.m., Emergency Services and Hamilton Police responded to a motor vehicle collision involving a pickup truck and a four-year-old Hamilton boy. The collision occurred at the intersection of Sherman Avenue and Clinton Street in the City of Hamilton.

A male driver was northbound on Sherman Avenue turning right onto Clinton Street when a four-year-old boy darted from the sidewalk and was struck as the vehicle passed. The four-year-old boy was transported to hospital and is currently in non-life threatening condition. 

Due to the nature of the injuries, the Collision Reconstruction Unit attended the scene and has taken carriage of the investigation.

Speed and/or impairment have been ruled out as factors in this collision.
