Gaming Consoles Targeted During Break and Enters

Hamilton Police are actively investigating Break and Enters at the EB Game Stores occurring on January 5 and January 23, 2019. In each of the incidents, the suspects used a vehicle to smash through the front doors and steal gaming consoles. Hamilton Police BEAR Unit feel there is a strong link between the two incidents.

On January 5, 2019, shortly before 8:00 a.m. police were contacted that EB Games at 2172 Rymal Road East in Glanbrook had been a target to a break and enter. The investigation revealed a vehicle was used to smash the front doors open and take gaming consoles. The investigation is ongoing.

On January 23, 2019, shortly before 2:30 a.m. police were called by an off-site security company that a break and enter were in progress at EB Games located at 1001 Golf Links Road, Ancaster. The front doors had been smashed by a pick-up truck causing extensive damage to the window, framework and display shelving. Police are still evaluating the list of stolen property but it appears gaming consoles were targeted.

Police feel there is a link between the two incidents and the targeted property is primarily gaming units.
