At approx 2:05pm Police and the Hamilton Fire Dept responded to large garage fire in the area of Barton St and Dewitt Rd in Stoney Creek. Police assisted in evacuation of any residents affected in the area. The entire area has been blocked off for safety reasons and police are requesting that all residents and pedestrians stay away from area until the fire is safely under control. All vehicle and pedestrian traffic is being diverted away from this location. It is expected that Fire and Emergency crews will remain in the area for an extended period of time.
