Great Communication and Fast Response Leads to Arrests

A surveillance camera leads police to a quick arrest of two males breaking into a Hydro One compound.

On April 4, 2018, shortly before 3:30 a.m., police received information from a communications security team that two males had just broke in to the Hydro One compound at 1 Elgin Street, Hamilton. The suspects were last seen at the Beasley Park area.

Police arrived and witnessed two males exit the dumpster area of the parking lot and continue running eastbound towards Kelly Street, Hamilton. Police were able to catch up with one of the males on foot and the second male was quickly located by our K-9 unit, hiding behind a vehicle. The males were arrested and brought into custody with their bail opposed.

The stolen copper wire was located and returned back to Hydro One.
