Hamilton Male and Female Arrested for Possession of a Restricted Weapon
Hamilton Police Service has removed another gun from the streets.
In August 2018, members of the Gangs and Guns unit initiated an investigation into the activities of a male party suspected of being in possession of a loaded firearm.
On Thursday, September 6, 2018, shortly after 8:00 a.m., the Hamilton Police Gangs and Guns Unit assisted by members of the Emergency Response Unit arrested a male party in the area of Upper Wentworth suspected of being in possession of an illegal firearm. The male party was arrested inside a motor vehicle. Police returned to an address on Stonechurch Road, where they executed a search warrant, also locating a female associated with the male.
Through investigation, police located a loaded Ruger 22 cal handgun with an additional magazine also loaded with ammunition.
Charged:
Kevin Johnson (38years) male from Hamilton
A female (37-years) from Hamilton
· Unauthorized possession of a firearm
· Knowledge of Unauthorized possession of a firearm
· Possession of a prohibited/restricted firearm with ammunition
· Breach of firearms prohibition order
The accused male party will appear in court on Friday, September 7, 2018, to answer to the charges. The female was released on a Promise To Appear with a future court date
