Hamilton Man Caught Speeding 134 in a 70km/hr Zone

Hamilton Police are reminding drivers there will be a continued zero-tolerance approach to Stunt Driving after a 41-year-old Hamilton man was charged with Stunt Driving and Speeding during his ‘Sunday morning drive.’ He will appear in court on Monday, April 29, 2019, to answer to the charges.

On Sunday, March 24, 2019, shortly before 11:00 a.m., Hamilton Police observed a motor vehicle travelling northbound on Centennial Parkway near Webster Road at a high rate of speed. At the same time, the officer was travelling in the opposite direction. Police activated their speed calculating equipment and confirmed the vehicle’s speed exceeded the posted speed limit of 70 km/hr.

A traffic stop was conducted and the driver, a 41-year-old Hamilton was issued two court summonses for Stunt Driving and Speeding 134km/hr in a posted 70 km/hr zone. He is scheduled to appear in court on Monday, April 29, 2019, to answer to the charges.

In accordance with the Highway Traffic Act, the driver’s licence has been suspended for seven days and the vehicle has been impounded for the same period.
