Hamilton Man Charged with Fraud from Canadian Orpheus Male Choir

Hamilton Police Service has charged a local resident of defrauding Canadian Orpheus Male Choir of approximately $50,000 dollars.

In October 2018, the Hamilton Police Major Fraud Unit received a complaint regarding several accounting irregularities that had been discovered by Canadian Orpheus Male Choir executive.

It is alleged that between January 2016 and October 2018, the accused while volunteering as a Treasurer for Canadian Orpheus Male Choir misappropriated approximately $50,000 dollars.

Charged:

Mackenzie Jenkyns (male, 42-years-old) Hamilton resident

  • Fraud over $5000
  • Theft over $5000

Jenkyns was released with a promise to appear and is scheduled to appear before the court on Tuesday, December 18, 2018.
