Hamilton Police Appeal for Assistance in Gun Point Robbery

Hamilton Police continues to investigate a commercial robbery that occurred earlier this year in Ancaster. If you can identify the suspect, or have any information about the robbery, you are asked to contact police.

On Sunday, February 28, 2021, shortly before 10:45 p.m., Hamilton Police responded to a robbery at the Esso Gas located at 33 Wilson Street West in Ancaster.

An unknown male pointed what appeared to be a firearm at the store clerk, demanded cash and proceeded to threaten the employee.

Through investigation, police have confirmed that a single male suspect attended the store and committed the robbery.

SUSPECT DESCRIPTION

  • Male, white
  • Approximately 25-30 years-of-age
  • Approximately 5'8-5’10
  • Average build
  • Black balaclava
  • Black gloves
  • Black winter jacket with brown fur lined hood
  • Black high top running shoes with white heel
  • Black pants

The suspect was last seen fleeing on a bicycle northbound through the parking lot on Wilson Street West.

The store employee was not physically injured.

Investigators from the BEAR Unit are appealing for the public's assistance in identifying the suspect in this investigation.
