Hamilton Police Arrest Home Invasion Suspects

On Tuesday, October 23, 2108, Hamilton Police responded to a home invasion in progress. Through investigation, two females and a male were identified as being involved in the incident. They attended court on Wednesday, October 24, 2018, to answer to several charges. The victim was transported to hospital with minor injuries. Hamilton Police believe this was a targeted incident.

On Tuesday, October 24, 2018, shortly after 2:00 p.m., the victim was asleep at his residence located in the area of Barton Street East and Victoria Avenue North. He was awoken to a loud banging sound and located a male and two females in the home. After a brief struggle, the victim was able to separate himself from the suspects and contacted 911. Police officers were in the area and quickly responded. Through investigation, police were able to identify and locate the three suspects at a residence in the area of Wellington Street North and Cannon Street East, Hamilton.

Hamilton Police have arrested two females and a male in relation to the incident.

At the time of arrest, the females were in possession of an undisclosed amount of cocaine, heroin and oxycodone.

The victim was transported to hospital with minor injuries

Karen Desilva - 44 years from Hamilton

  • Assault with a Weapon
  • Robbery
  • Possession of Controlled Substance - Oxycodone

Malcolm Crane - 35 years from Hamilton

  • Break and Enter
  • Assault with a Weapon
  • Robbery

All three accused attended the John Sopinka Courthouse on Wednesday, October 24, 2018, to answer to the charges.

Hamilton Police believe this was a targeted incident.
