Hamilton Police Continue To Investigate ATV Accident

On Saturday, October 8, 2022, shortly after 4:00 p.m., a 35-year-old Hamilton male was driving his side by side ATV, along with his two children, an 8-year-old daughter and 6-year-old son in a field just west of Miles Road in the City of Hamilton. The ATV entered a 30’ deep pond located on the property and submerged.

The 35-year-old male was able to get out and call for help. Hamilton Fire, Hamilton Paramedics and multiple police resources including the HPS Marine Unit along with the Peel Regional Police Dive Team were all part of the exhaustive effort to locate and recover the children. All three were transported to hospital but sadly the children succumbed to their injuries.  

Hamilton Police continues to investigate this incident and investigators have ruled out alcohol as a contributing factor.  

These are the City’s 19th and 20th traffic fatalities of the year.
