Hamilton Police Continue to Investigate Fatal Motor Vehicle Collision in Ancaster

Hamilton Police continue to investigate a fatal motor vehicle collision that occurred late yesterday afternoon in Ancaster.

On Tuesday, October 11, 2022, shortly before 5:00 p.m., a 33-year-old Brantford man was driving a 2003 Suzuki motorcycle eastbound on Wilson Street towards Alberton Road South in the City of Hamilton.  At that same time, a 57-year-old Ohsweken man, driving a 2014 Chevrolet pick-up truck was westbound on Wilson Street, he was beginning to turn left onto Alberton Road South. 

The motorcycle and the truck collided causing the motorcycle driver to be thrown from the motorcycle.  The motorcyclist was pronounced dead on scene and the driver of the pick-up truck, and 47-year old passenger, were unharmed during the collision.

Hamilton Police continues to investigate this incident and investigators have not yet ruled out vehicle speed or driver impairment as contributing factors.  

This is the city’s 21st traffic fatality of the year.  There have now been five drivers killed in motor vehicle collisions in 2022.
