Hamilton Police Continue to Seek Witnesses in J.C Beemer Assault

Hamilton Police remain in the area of J.C Beemer Park today canvassing for video surveillance and witnesses after yesterday’s assault which sent one man to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

On Friday, June 23, 2023, 37-year-old Craig Brooks was charged with Aggravated Assault and remains in custody. Police are not seeking any other suspects.

On Thursday, June 22, 2022 shortly before 9:30 a.m. Hamilton Police received a 911 call for an assault in progress. Officers were on scene within minutes of the call however the suspect had fled prior to police arrival. Officers responded to the pavilion area of the park and begun providing life saving measures to the 45-year-old male victim.

Officers continued to follow all leads and arrested Craig Brooks within an hour of the incident in the area of King Street East and Emerald Street South.

The victim remains in life-threatening condition.
