Hamilton Police Investigate All Terrain Vehicle Fatality

The Hamilton Police Reconstruction Unit is investigating the city’s fifth driving fatality for 2020.

On April 25, 2020, shortly after 5:30 p.m., a single-vehicle collision occurred on a private property on Harvest Road just east of Ofield Road South in Hamilton.

A 24-year-old female of Flamborough was driving an ATV with her 21-year-old sister as her passenger. The vehicle lost control and fell down a ridge causing both occupants to fall approximately 10 metres.

Hamilton Police, Paramedic Services and Fire responded to the collision and transported the 24-year-old driver to the hospital with serious injuries. The 21-year-old passenger was found to be non-responsive and unfortunately succumbed to her injuries at the scene.

At this time, police believe speed was not a factor in this collision and the investigation remains ongoing.

Police have determined the appropriate safety equipment was used during the incident.

The Collision Reconstruction Unit will not be releasing any names at this time.
