Hamilton Police Investigate Carjacking

Hamilton Police continue to investigate an overnight carjacking on the West Mountain. The victim attended the area of Purnell Drive and Clifton Downs Road to meet with an acquaintance. During the interaction, the acquaintance and three males robbed the victim of his cell phone, a small amount of money and his vehicle. The vehicle and suspects remain outstanding. If observed by the public, do not approach, contact 911 immediately.

On Monday, December 18, 2018, shortly after 9:00 p.m., the complainant attended the area of Purnell Drive and Clifton Downs Road, Hamilton to meet with an acquaintance. Once at the location the complainant realized the acquaintance was in the company of three unknown males. The parties were engaged in conversation inside the complainant’s vehicle and the complainant was subsequently threatened. The complainant fled the vehicle, leaving it running. The suspects left the area with the complainant’s car, a white 2009 Mitsubishi Lancer (AVLW784), his cell phone and a small amount of cash.

During the interaction, it is believed one of the males was in possession of a firearm.

The complainant was not injured and police do not believe this to be a random event.

The suspects are described as four males, darker in complexion.

Police are urging the public not to approach the vehicle if seen but to contact 911 immediately.
