Hamilton Police Investigate Downtown Shooting

Hamilton Police are investigating a homicide after a 19-year-old Hamilton man was shot in the area of King Street West and MacNab Street South earlier today.

On Wednesday, March 6, 2024, shortly before 1:00 p.m., Hamilton Police were called to 119 King Street West for reports of shots fired. Upon arriving, police found a male suffering from what appeared to be gunshot wounds. He was transported to hospital and pronounced deceased.

Suspects were seen fleeing the area. At this time, there are no suspect or vehicle descriptions. Investigators believe this to be a targeted shooting.

There will continue to be a police presence in the area. Investigators are asking anyone who may have been in the area at the time or have video evidence to contact Detective Andrew Grant at 905-546-3874.
