Hamilton Police Investigate Firearms Call

Hamilton Police Service is continuing to investigate after an earlier incident in the Victoria Avenue and Main Street area.

On April 20, 2018, Hamilton Police received information that a male was seen carrying two firearms in the area. The individual was then reported entering into a residence on Victoria Avenue. As a precaution, police closed down Victoria Avenue from Main to Stinson, as well as the Claremont Access. St. Patrick’s Catholic Elementary School and Ontario Works were also placed into Hold and Secure.

After a search of the area, two persons of interest were detained. There were no firearms in the residence and police continue to investigate.
