Hamilton Police Investigate Series of Church Break and Enters

Hamilton Police continue to investigate a series of sanctuary commercial break and enter investigations.

On Saturday, January 14, 2023, the Hamilton Police Service began investigating a series of church entries occurring throughout the city. At least three suspects are believed to be involved in these incidents, which have taken place in the early morning hours.

Since the investigation began, there have been a total of eight incidents reported, with the most recent occurring on Tuesday, March 21, 2023. In each case, the suspects have gained entry to the churches and targeted various items, including cash donations, and electronic equipment.

Detectives continue to investigate these incidents and are asking for the public's assistance in identifying the suspects.

All the suspects are described to police as male, white, approximately 30-40 years-of-age.  

We continue to work closely with those affected and will continue to work with neighbouring police services to raise awareness surrounding these incidents.

Hamilton Police would like to take this opportunity to encourage all commercial businesses to take precautions by installing security cameras and alarms where possible, and reporting any suspicious activity to police.
