Hamilton Police Investigate Stolen Auto Colliding into Dental Office

The owner of a KIA Sportage located his car in an Upper James parking lot four days after it was reported stolen. The owner followed his car when it started to travel. The suspect driver lost control, driving into a building on Mohawk Road East and Hayden Street, Hamilton. No reported injuries and police continue to investigate.

On November 2, 2018, shortly after 5:30 p.m., the owner of a 2007 KIA Sportage reported his vehicle had been stolen from his driveway on Garth Street, Hamilton.

On November 6, 2018, shortly after 2:30 a.m., the owner spotted his car in the parking lot of 675 Upper James with an unknown male inside. The vehicle went mobile, travelling to the area of 1 Hayden Street where he lost control and drove into the Mohawk Dental Office. The owner followed his stolen KIA and notified police. The suspect fled from the scene prior to police arrival.

There has been no report of any injuries. Police continue to investigate.

The City Building Inspector attended the location to investigate for any structural damage.

Suspect Description:

  • Male, white, 6’feet approximately 175 pounds, medium build
  • Wearing a red toque, red Adidas jacket with white stripes, blue jeans and white shoes
