On Monday, March 19, 2018, shortly after 10:00 a.m., a suspicious note was located inside Elizabeth Bagshaw Elementary School, 350 Albright Road, Hamilton. The note included a possible threat made of violence towards the school. After gathering information, school administrators contacted police.

The school was placed in Hold and Secure as a thorough investigation was conducted. Police have determined there was no actual threat. At no time was the safety of staff and students in question.

Hamilton Police take these types of incidents very seriously. As such, during the investigation, a police presence was maintained on school property, until a conclusion had been reached.
