Hamilton Police are currently investigating a shooting after a victim walked into a local hospital with a non-life threatening gunshot wound.

On Sunday, August 13, 2023, at approximately 11:00 a.m., the Hamilton Police responded to the area of King Street East and Owen Place in the City of Hamilton, after receiving a report of a victim walking into a local hospital with a gunshot wound to their leg.

 At this time, the shooting is believed to be a targeted incident.

During the investigation, it was later learned the victim in the matter was a federal parolee who was arrested on the outstanding warrant and returned to custody.
