Hamilton Police Investigating Hamilton's 6th Homicide

On Saturday, May 30, 2020, just shortly before 11:00 p.m., Hamilton Police responded to reports of a male suffering from gunshot wounds in the area of 334 East 14th Street on the Hamilton Mountain.

Police arrived on scene four minutes after the 911 call and located the male victim on the ground bleeding in the parking lot of the apartment complex. Officers immediately began CPR and attempted life-saving measures. Hamilton Paramedics arrived on scene quickly and assisted police. The victim was transported to the Hamilton General Hospital by ambulance.

Medical staff continued the life-saving attempts, however, the 44-year-old male victim was pronounced deceased just before 11:30 p.m. This marks the city's 6th homicide of the year.

Hamilton Police have contained the crime scene in the parking lot of 334 East 14th St. Officers will be in the area for most of today canvassing. If you live in the immediate area, police are asking that you check your video surveillance between the hours of 10:00 p.m. and 11:20 p.m. for anything unusual or suspicious. Investigators will also be canvassing for any potential video.

The investigation is in its infancy and as such, there is no suspect(s) description to release at this time.

The victim's name will not be released at this time. Investigators have briefly spoken with the victim's family, however, they require time to notify other next of kin.
