Hamilton Police Looking to Identify Suspect in Robbery

The Hamilton Police BEAR Unit is investigating an attempted robbery that occurred in downtown Hamilton.

On Sunday, August 29, 2021, at approximately 12:45a.m., an unknown suspect entered a business in downtown Hamilton, approached the counter and made a demand for money. The suspect brandished a pocketknife and attempted to rob the business but ultimately left empty handed. The suspect was last seen in the area of Woodlands Park located at Barton Street East and Sanford Avenue North.

No one was injured. The knife used by the suspect is described as a silver pocketknife and is still outstanding.

Suspect Description

  • Male, late 20’s to early 30’s
  • Caucasian
  • 5’5 – 5’8, average build
  • Believed to have a tattoo on top of right hand

Investigators are appealing for the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect for this attempted robbery.
