Hamilton Police Make Arrest in Financial Institution Robberies

Hamilton Police have arrested and charged a 25-year-old Hamilton man in relation to robberies at two financial institutions that occurred within a day of one another.

On Monday, April 4, 2022, a lone male suspect entered a financial institution located in the east end of Hamilton. Upon entering the male approached the wicket tendering a note to the teller.  The note advised that this was a robbery and the suspect was armed.  The suspect was able to obtain an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the area.

On Tuesday, April 5, 2022, the same male suspect entered another financial institution located on the Hamilton Mountain. Once again, approaching a wicket and tendered a note to the teller. The suspect was handed a sum of money and he left the area.

No weapons were observed and no one was injured during the incidents.

On Wednesday, April 6, 2022, Hamilton Police arrested 25-year-old Gerald Adamson Poirier of Hamilton.

Charges:

  • Robbery X 2 
  • Disguise with Intent X 2
  • Fail to Comply – Probation X 6 

Poirier has his bail opposed.
