Hamilton Police Make Arrest in Gunpoint Robbery

Hamilton Police make arrest in a gunpoint robbery investigation that occurred over the weekend in downtown Hamilton. 

In the early morning hours of Sunday, September 3, 2023, a 32-year-old man was robbed of cash at gunpoint in the area of James Street North and Cannon Street West.  Hamilton Police Division One detectives continued the investigation, determined that it was a targeted attack and identified the suspect as a 43-year-old Hamilton man. 

Thomas Gordon Major was arrested without incident yesterday evening in possession of a loaded handgun and drugs.

Thomas Gordon Major has been charged with the following offences;

  • Robbery with Firearm
  • Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
  • Possession of a Loaded Restricted Weapon
  • Three Counts of Possession Contrary to Order
  • Possession for the Purpose – Cocaine, Fentanyl & Methamphetamine

Thomas Gordon Major had his bail opposed and will be appearing in court today.
