Hamilton Police Seek Witnesses in Tragic Motor Vehicle Collision This Morning

In the early hours of Monday, February 5, 2024,  shortly before 1:30 a.m., Hamilton Police responded to a 911 call reporting a motor vehicle collision involving two vehicles at the intersection of Main Street East and James Street South.

Upon arrival, police discovered a grey four-door motor vehicle with one male occupant in his 60s. Despite immediate lifesaving measures, the individual was transported to the hospital and later pronounced deceased. In addition, investigators identified a second vehicle, brown in colour, and two males in their 20s who were transported to the hospital, both remain in non-life threatening condition.

The circumstances surrounding this tragic collision are currently under investigation, with dedicated officers remaining at the scene to gather critical information.

Hamilton Police are appealing to the community for assistance. If you were in the area around Main Street East and James Street South in the early hours of Monday, February 5, 2024, and witnessed the collision or have any information that could aid the investigation, we urge you to come forward.
