Hamilton Police Seek Witnesses to Collision Between HSR Bus and Pedestrian

Hamilton Police would like to speak with anyone who witnessed a collision between an HSR bus and pedestrian that occurred overnight. The pedestrian is currently hospitalized in serious condition.

On Thursday, August 16, 2018, shortly before 12:30 a.m. Hamilton’s Emergency Services partners responded to reports of a collision involving a pedestrian and HSR Bus on Main Street West near Locke Street South, Hamilton.

Information obtained at the time depicts the male entered onto the roadway where he struck the side of an eastbound HSR Bus that was travelling on Main Street West. The bus driver is cooperating with police.

Speed and alcohol have been ruled out as contributing factors to the collision. 

The male pedestrian, a 35-year-old Hamilton man was transported to hospital and remains in serious condition.

The Hamilton Police Service Collision Reconstruction Unit responded to the scene of the collision and has carriage of the investigation which is still ongoing at this time. No charges have been laid at this time.
