Hamilton Police Seeking Assistance to Identify Suspicious Male

Hamilton Police Service is seeking public assistance in identifying a suspicious male near Cathy Wever School.

On Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at approximately 12:30 p.m., Hamilton police responded to an incident at Cathy Wever Elementary School, 160 Wentworth St. N. in Hamilton.

A nine-year-old child alleged he was grabbed by a male near a fence in the school playground. The student was not injured but fled into the school and advised school staff.

The suspect is described as male, white, 40 to 50 years old. Gray hair, dressed in black, wearing black shoes with white stripes, carrying a large black bag, possibly a garbage bag.

The male was last seen travelling southbound on Wentworth St. from the playground of Cathy Wever School.

Police are investigating this incident and seeking the assistance of anyone who may have been in the vicinity and witnessed the incident or suspect.
