Hamilton School Principal Charged with Sexual Assault

On January 8, 2019, Hamilton Police began an investigation into the conduct of Damir Ivankovic, a Principal at Ryerson Middle School in Hamilton. The incident took place during the 2017 school year and involved a female student who attended Ryerson Middle School.

Damir Ivankovic has been employed with the Hamilton Wentworth District School Board since 2003 and subsequently employed at Ryerson Elementary School in September 2014.

The Hamilton Wentworth District School Board (HWDSB) assigned the 54-year-old, Stoney Creek resident to home duties on January 9, 2019.

Damir Ivankovic was arrested on August 6, 2019, after attending Central Police Station. He was released on a Promise to Appear and expected to attend court on September 3, 2019, to answer to the charges of Sexual Assault and Sexual Interference.
