Hamilton Police Appealing for Information on Fatal Fail to Remain

It’s been 10 years since Hlias Kotsopoulos was struck and killed walking with his wife

It has been 10 years since the fatal Fail to Remain that struck and killed Hlias Kotsopoulos. Hamilton Police continue to appeal for the public’s assistance.

On Tuesday, March 22, 2011, at approximately 8:20 p.m., Hlias and his wife were crossing Green Road on the south side of Barton Street East in Stoney Creek. At that time they were struck by a motor vehicle that was traveling southbound on Green Road.

The woman suffered serious injuries and was transported to hospital. She later recovered from her injuries. Hlias Kotsopoulos was dragged 100 metres southbound by the vehicle.

Unfortunately, his injuries were fatal and he died at the scene.

The vehicle continued southbound and fled the area.

The suspect vehicle is described as a dark SUV type of vehicle. It has a licence plate consisting of 4 letters followed by 3 numbers. The first letter of the licence plate is the letter “B.”

The vehicle was never located.

Investigators are requesting the public’s assistance in this investigation. Hlias is deeply missed by his wife and family and they deserve answers.

Hamilton Police want the person or persons responsible for killing Hlias to be held accountable.
