Illegal Drugs Seized During Search Warrant Execution

Hamilton has seen an increase in the number of shootings since the beginning of January 2019, which have mostly been attributed to drug trafficking. Hamilton Police remain committed to addressing gun violence and the illegal drug trade through its newly formed Make Safe task force. A search warrant has been executed by the task force that resulted in the arrest of two individuals and the seizure of illegal drugs, a firearm and Canadian currency.

Shortly after 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 27, 2019, Hamilton Police Service executed a search warrant at a west end residence in relation to illegal drug activity. During the search, Hamilton Police seized a large quantity of “Blue Meth” and fentanyl, ”Popcorn” (heroin/fentanyl), methamphetamine, three stun guns, a pellet gun revolver modified to fire 22 calibre ammunition and a holster. As well over $800 of Canadian currency several scales, a money counter and other items associated with drug trafficking were seized.
