Illicit Drugs Money and Weapons Seized During Warrant Execution

Hamilton has seen an increase in the number of shootings since the beginning of January 2019, which have mostly been attributed to drug trafficking. Police recently executed search warrants at a downtown property that resulted in the seizure of illicit drugs, prohibited weapons and money.

On Thursday, March 7, 2019, shortly before 4:00 p.m., members of the Hamilton Police Service Vice and Drugs Unit along with the Emergency Response Unit executed two search warrants at a property in the area of Barton Street East and Gage Avenue North in relation to illicit drugs sales. Police seized a large quantity of cocaine, along with fentanyl, heroin and methamphetamine valued at $46250. Police also identified over $3200 of Canadian currency believed to be the proceeds of crime, as well as scales and prohibited weapons.

  • Possession of controlled substance for trafficking – Cocaine
  • Possession of controlled substance for trafficking – Methamphetamine
  • Possession proceeds of crime under $5000.00 X2
  • Possession of prohibited weapon
