Investigation into Residential Explosion Continues

Hamilton Police in conjunction with the Ontario Fire Marshall’s Office continue to hold the scene of an explosion at 279 Bonaventure Drive in Hamilton.

On Friday, April 16, 2021, at approximately 10:30 p.m., Hamilton Police and emergency service partners were dispatched to a residence located on the Hamilton mountain for reports of an explosion.

No one was located within the residence and no reports of injuries.

The Mountain Division Criminal Investigations Branch initially responded for the incident, however the office of the Ontario Fire Marshall was contacted and have taken over the investigation with the assistance of the Hamilton Police Service.

A police presence is expected at the residence during this time.
