Suspects Involved in Spraying Noxious Substance

Hamilton Police are looking to identify three individuals responsible for randomly spraying two people with an unknown substance while walking in the area of Main Street West, Hamilton.

On November 18, 2018, Hamilton Police responded to two separate reports of individuals sprayed with a noxious substance.

The first incident occurred shortly before 8:50 p.m., in the area of Main Street West and Dalewood Avenue. A lone male was walking Eastbound on Main Street West when two male suspects exited a silver-coloured motor vehicle. The suspects sprayed the victim in the face with a noxious substance.

The second incident occurred shortly after 9:30 p.m. in the area of Main Street West and Cline Avenue South. A lone male was walking Southbound on Cline Avenue South when a grey-coloured motor vehicle approached him. The victim heard a noise and as he turned to look at the vehicle, he was sprayed with a noxious substance.

No words were exchanged and nothing was stolen during either incident. Police believe the noxious substance was most likely bear spray.

Police believe three suspects are involved and they are described as follows:

  • Suspect # 1: male white, 6’2, approximately 25-years of age, skinny build and wearing a black jacket with the hood up.
  • Suspect #2: male white, 6’1, approximately 25-years of age, skinny build and wearing a white jacket.
  • Suspect #3: male white, skinny build, short brown or black hair and approximately 25-years of age.

Police believe the suspect vehicle to be a silver/grey four-door Hyundai sedan.
