Male Arrested for Attempted Murder

Hamilton Police Service is investigating after an attempted murder in the Stoney Creek area. 

On October 8, 2018, just after 9 a.m., Hamilton Police Service East End Patrol officers and a volunteer Hamilton Fire Fighter responded to a 911 call at a private residence on McNeilly Road in Stoney Creek. Upon arrival, they found a male in his 50s suffering life-threatening stab wounds. The male was transported to the hospital by EMS. A male in his 20s surrendered to Police without further incident.

The investigation revealed that this had been a family disturbance and the victim was the father of the male who had surrendered to Police. There was never any danger to the public.

The investigation was conducted by East End Divisional Detectives. Due to the circumstances involved, the continuing investigation will be taken over by the Major Crime Unit with ongoing support from the East End.

The accused male will appear in Court at John Sopinka Courthouse on October 9, 2018, facing the charge of Attempt Murder.
