Male arrested for Recent Hate Graffiti Incidents

Hamilton Police have continued to investigate recent hate biased graffiti incidents in the Claremount Access area. Last night, a 40-year-old Hamilton man was caught vandalizing property in the same area. Through investigation, police determined he was responsible for the recent incidents. He will appear in court today.

On Thursday, October 17, 2109, Hamilton Police conducted surveillance in the area of the James Street stairs. At approximately 10:30 p.m., a male matching the description of the suspect believed to be responsible for recent incidents was observed writing on fencing and city property. He was arrested without incident and taken into police custody. Through investigation, police confirmed his previous involvement. The male appeared in court today to answer to several mischief and court violation charges.

  • Mischief under $5000 X 9
  • Fail to comply probation X2
